The St. Nicholas Society Catholic School Scholarship Fund was founded in 1988 by Fr. Sean Donohue and named after St. Nicholas because it basically demonstrates the type of charitable work for which he was known. The primary purpose of the St. Nicholas Society Fund is to secure the necessary funding to sponsor the rising number of students at St. Ludmila Elementary and St. Paul High School whose parents, for a variety of reasons, are unable to meet the financial responsibilities associated with private, Catholic education. When school administration is aware of special circumstances that prohibit a family from keeping current with tuition payments, funds are withdrawn from the St. Nicholas Society account and applied directly to the tuition balance in the family's online FACTS account.
