SHINER - Five Shiner homeowners received acts of kindness this week when volunteers helped build a wheelchair ramp, apply fresh coats of paint and install new doors.

SWEENY - It didn't take long for things to start spiraling out of control Saturday for Shiner St. Paul in the TAPPS 1A/2A softball state championship game.

WACO - For the second straight year, Shiner St. Paul swept the competition at the TAPPS 2A state meet after winning the girls and boys team titles at Baylor's Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium on Saturday.

Wachsmuth's Cardinals earned their fifth TAPPS championship Friday night, after defeating defending champion Cedar Hill Trinity Christian, 43-40, in the Division III title game at Bastrop Memorial Stadium. The win completes a perfect season for the Cardinals, who finish the year with a 14-0 record.
